Woman Ejected From BMW In Route 80 Crash: Njsp

A 75-year-old Saddle River woman was ejected from a BMW in a crash on Route 80 in Warren County on the morning of Monday, Feb. 24, authorities said.

At 8:01 a.m., a BMW SUV was traveling eastbound on Route 80 in Allamuchy Township when it lost directional control and struck the left guardrail, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for New Jersey State Police said.

The vehicle then redirected, crossing all three travel lanes and impacting the right guardrail, Lebron said. It then redirected again to the left, crossing all three travel lanes and striking the metal bridge rail, Lebron said.

 During the collision sequence, the Saddle River woman, a passenger, was ejected and sustained serious injuries, Lebron said. The driver, a 43-year-old Sparta woman, also sustained serious injuries, Lebron said

Both were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.
